The famous European airline Ryanair is planning to spread its wings further by adding nine new international routes for the next summer of 2027. The new routes will connect destinations across Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Denmark, Austria, Portugal, and Slovakia. Most of these services will start operating from late March 2027, however there will be one route that will be launched in June.
As noted by aviation analyst Sean M on X, this latest update about the launch of news routes demonstrates continued focus of the airline’s expansion in the markets with fewer airport charges and operating costs.
Germany Gets New Ryanair Connections Despite Capacity Cuts
One significant development made by Ryanair should be noticed by the readers, and that is the decision to add Kassel-Calden Airport (KSF) in Germany to its network. There will be two more new routes from the airport, making a connection with Lamezia Terme in Italy and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, and both the services will operate twice weekly.
This expansion is still happening despite the news of Ryanair decreasing its operations elsewhere in Germany. During the ongoing winter season, the airline has almost cut 700,000 seats, which used to operate from Germany and closed its base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. According to the reports, Ryanair is scheduled to withdraw from Bremen in April 2027.
Ryanair has constantly criticized Germany’s aviation and taxes and airport changes. Meanwhile, there are fewer commercial airlines, due to which there are no regular scheduled passenger services for the 2026/27 winter season.
| Route | Start Date | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Kassel-Calden – Lamezia Terme | March 29, 2027 | Twice weekly |

| Klagenfurt – Brindisi | March 29, 2027 | Twice weekly |
| Klagenfurt – Porto | March 30, 2027 | Twice weekly |
| Alicante – Lübeck | March 30, 2027 | Twice weekly |
| Málaga – Saarbrücken | March 30, 2027 | Twice weekly |
| Girona – Bratislava | June 1, 2027 | Twice weekly |
Milan-Bergamo Benefits From Further Expansion
As per reports, there will be two new routes added to Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY), making a connection to Shannon in Ireland and Aarhus in Denmark, and both of these routes will operate weekly.
Recently Ryanair has added two aircraft to its Bergamo base, and the overall investment made on those two aircraft is approximately $200 million. This brings its combined Milan-based fleet to 33 aircraft.
Ryanair has scheduled approximately 5.87 million seats from Bergamo for the winter season of 2026/27. All these new services will bring a 5.5% increase in comparison to the last year. These latest updates include Liverpool, Paphos, and Rabat.
Ryanair Plans More Routes to Morocco and Italy
After all these new connections, Ryanair is planning to expand more for the summer of 2027. The airline’s aim is to bring in more than 2,500 routes operating in 230 destinations.
There will be four new connections made to Morocco, which will include three routes to Tangier from Alicante, Krakow, and Turin. And the other services will connect Marrakech with Palermo in Sicily.
According to the reports, Ryanair will also be opening its new two-aircraft base at Rimini Federico Fellini International Airport in Italy. Moreover, five new routes will connect Rimini with Dublin, Warsaw, Memmingen, Stockholm, and Tirana.
All these new additions and updates will portray Ryanair’s takeover in the European market.
