Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the main entry point for western Pennsylvania. Most passengers drive to that airport and leave their car parked for the time they travel. The parking has been made very simple now, you will find only 3-4 options to park (Terminal Lot, Shuttle Lot, and Terminal Garage), and you have to select the right one according to your budget and convenience.

These options have been fixed in my mind since the last time I flew to Pittsburgh. I parked my car in the Shuttle Lot because I had to go for a week-long trip. I reserved it a few days earlier since driving there would have cost me more. I parked my car and walked towards the shelters and had to wait for the shuttle for a few minutes. It took me 10 minutes to reach the terminal, because of which I had to leave early. Following these steps I reached the terminal and boarded my flight on time. Parking the car at the shuttle parking lot made my traveling hassle-free, all I had to do was plan my trip systematically. This is why I have created this guide with you to share the important aspects of parking at the Pittsburgh airport and their benefits.

What has changed at Pittsburgh Airport Parking?

On November 18, 2025, there was a new decision made that Pittsburgh Airport will only have one terminal, which will be connected to parking. The old parking lots, like short-term, long-term, and economy lots, no longer exist, they have been merged into one big lot.

Now let's look at the new structure of Pittsburgh parking from closest to cheapest and what they offer:

Terminal Garage

The terminal garage is a five-story garage that is right next to the terminal. EV charging is available every floor, making it easier for the passengers with electronic vehicles. You can find the rental car counters on the bottom floor. This parking lot is suitable for the passengers going for long trips with family and carrying extra heavy luggage.

  • It takes 3-5 minutes to reach from the terminal garage to the terminal.

  • The parking rates are $38 a day if you drive up and $28 if you are booking in advance.

  • The parking rates for short stays are $8 for 30 minutes, $12 for 1 hour, and $18 for 2 hours. For more details, you can check the Pittsburgh airport parking official website (https://flypittsburgh.com/).

This parking lot is suitable for everyone, especially passengers going on long trips and passengers aiming to save some money.

  • It takes 3-5 minutes to get from the terminal lot to the terminal.

The Free Wait Lot is for the passengers who are waiting for their pickups and arrivals. There is no terminal access, the people can only wait for the passengers for pickup or arrival. Wait for the passengers to collect their baggage and then drive to pick them up.
