How to Transfer Between Terminals

Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are physically connected, and thus moving between them is quick. Whereas, Terminal 4 is located at a distance from other terminals, and therefore, it always takes longer to get there. 

• Skytrain (fastest mode to transfer): It is an automated train that connects the T1, T2, and T3 and runs every 3 to 6 minutes. The ride generally takes 1 to 3 minutes. 

• Walking: T1, T2, and T3 are interconnected via a covered walkway. It facilitates the passengers' moving between the terminals. 

• Shuttle bus (only option for T4): The free bus shuttle runs 24/7 and connects the Terminal 4 to T1, T2, T3, and the Jewel. It runs every 5 to 10 minutes.  

• Buffer time: Give yourself an extra 15 minutes for the Skytrain transfer and 25 minutes if the transfer includes Terminal 4. 

Good to know: Skytrain stations use the Concourse name instead of the Terminal number, which often confuses the first-time visitors. T1 uses station C (near gate C1) & station D (near gate D40); T2 uses station E (near gate E20) & station F (near gate F50); T3 uses station A (near gate A9), station A-south (near gate E21), and station B (near gate E5).

Singapore Changi Airport is the main international airport and is 15 miles from the center of Changi. Travelers have multiple transportation options available to reach Changi Airport. 

• The MRT station is built in the middle of T2 and T3, and it is easily connected to T1 via an underground walkway. It hardly takes 5 minutes to reach the station from the arrival hall. 

• The taxi stand is located outside the arrival hall of every terminal. Taxis are available at midnight but might charge extra. 

• The public buses are the cheapest transport option available at the basement of each terminal. 

• Hotels provide shuttle buses to facilitate the passengers with the pickup and drop-off from Changi Airport. 

• The pickup points for the ride-hailing are available one level below the taxi stands.

Parking Options at Singapore Airport

• Airline lounge: It is operated by the specific airlines and accessible for the premium cabin passenger and frequent flyer elite.

Changi is among the few airports that provide a range of hotels from budget-friendly to premium spaces, without even the need to exit the main gate. 

1. Changi Transit Hotel

An ideal choice for the passengers looking for accommodation without leaving the transit area. Changi Transit Hotel is located inside the departure transit hall, near the departure gate number D40 on level 3 on Terminal 1. Each room is equipped with a shower and comfortable amenities. 

2. YOTELAIR Singapore Changi Airport

Another Singapore airport hotel within the airport premises, located on level 4 at Jewel Changi Airport. It gives the flexibility with the booking hours; you can book a cabin for a full day or for just 4 hours. So, whether you have an early morning fligth or searching for an overnight stay, YOTELAIR remains open 24 hours.

The hotel is located between Terminal 3 and Jewel. The services are top-notch; this hotel has restaurants, a swimming pool, a fitness center, free Wi-Fi, business facilities, and meeting rooms. You can also get two hours of complimentary parking. 

Pro-tip: These are some of the Singapore airport hotels​ available inside the terminals that are definitely the primary choice for convenience. However, some of the best affordable hotels are available outside the Changi Airport with free shuttles. Village Hotel Changi, Colliwo Resort Changi, and ISA Hotels & Apartments are some of the cheapest options, where prices are as low as $70 or less. 

Services & Amenities at Singapore Airport

• Jewel Changi Airport features Rain Vortex, Canopy Park, and hundreds of shops & restaurants for transiting passengers and non-fliers.

• Shopping duty-free at all terminals, from liquor stores and cosmetics to electronics and a host of local and international restaurants, including hawker stalls.

• Make sure you reach the airport at least 2 to 3 hours prior to departure time for international flights, especially during peak season.  

• If you have a long layover in T1, T2, and T3, you can move to the Jewel instead of sitting at the gate. 

• Download a flight tracker app to get the live status of your flight, and double-check the departure gate, as airlines often change it for operational reasons.

• If you are landing too late or very early, check the operating hours of shops, restaurants, and hotels, instead of assuming everything runs 24 hours. 

• Always carry some local cash for taxis, parking, and lockers, as cards may not be acceptable everywhere. 

• You should allow additional time for immigration and check-in for the connecting flight. 

• Take a screenshot of your terminal and departure gate before landing, as Wi-Fi is not always reliable.

Changi rewards the travelers who slow down a bit instead of rushing to the departure gate.
