Doha, Qatar — Qatar Airways is expanding its network by inaugurating two new flights to Bogota, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela. With this, the airline becomes the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela, and also they are the first airline that provides a nonstop flight between Bogota and Doha.
Qatar Airways will use the Boeing 777-200LR, a long-range twin-jet suited to ultra-long sectors.
Flight schedule
The airline operates twice-weekly flights on both routes. The flight is scheduled to depart on every Wednesday and Sunday under the flight number QR783.

Two more cities in the Americas
Qatar Airways is expanding its footprint in the Americas, with Bogota and Caracas becoming its 16th and 17th destinations in the region, respectively. In 2010, Qatar first brought its services to South America with direct flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Connections through Hamad International
The timing has been fixed around the Hamad International Airport to provide a smooth transfer to passengers to the wider Qatar network. The airline said:
Qatar Airways' flight schedule has been designed to provide smooth onward connections through Hamad International Airport to key markets including Australia, China, Japan, Lebanon, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. This offers passengers greater flexibility and seamless transfer options across Qatar Airways' global network of over 170 destinations."
Delayed Debut
The inaugural flight took off on November 4. However, it was scheduled to begin its service to Venezuela by July 22, 2026. But due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East, the airline kept delaying its project. In late June, Venezuela also faced a massive earthquake that adds another reason to the delay.
More options inside Colombia
Qatar Airways and LATAM Airlines have expanded their existing codeshare agreement. Travelers can take flight of Qatar and then use its codeshare partner LATAM to continue their journey to further Columbian cities:
Cartagena
Armenia
Barranquilla
Bucaramanga
Cali
Cúcuta
Ibagué
Leticia
Medellín
Montería
Neiva
Pereira
Pasto
Riohacha
San Andrés Island
Santa Marta

What it means for travelers
Earlier, the travelers in the Gulf and Asia-Pacific regions had limited options to travel to Colombia and Venezuela. Mostly, travelers used to take a connecting flight from North America and Europe. Now, the passengers can take a direct flight from Doha to Caracas and Bogota. Further Bogota to various Columbian cities is served by Qatar through its codeshare partners. It means that passengers can now have a flight to Bogota and further take domestic flight on a single itinerary.
